Dr. David Tentser

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. David Tentser has always had a deep appreciation for nature, science, medicine, and animals, so becoming a vet felt like a natural choice for him. He’s been with the team since September 2014, after earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State. Throughout his career, he’s completed training in laser therapy and attended several CE meetings on a variety of veterinary health topics at local LA specialty clinics. He also received the ACVIM Student clinical Excellence Award.

Dr. Tentser has worked with animals in the U.S. and abroad; he spent time volunteering in Nicaragua, where he performed wellness and sterilization therapy for stray animals. He also did farm visits to help with livestock health.

With his years of experience in the veterinary field, Dr. Tentser believes the human-animal bond is a very important facet of life, and he feels that being a vet helps him to contribute to that bond. He loves providing the best possible care he can for pets while educating his clients.

When he’s not caring for pets at work, Dr. Tentser cares for his own pet: a dog named Lola (she’s the greatest). He also enjoys concerts and traveling, and spending time outdoors (backpacking, playing tennis, going to the beach, etc.). In fact, he recently hiked the Wonderland Trail in Washington, where he backpacked for 11 days, hiked 93 miles, and gained and lost a total of 22,000 feet in elevation.

Dr. Steven Aboulafia

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Steven Aboulafia, DVM, hails from the Fairfax district of Los Angeles. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in zoology in June 1985, and his DVM degree in June, 1991, both from the renowned University of California-Davis.

“Dr. Steve” has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1991 and took over as owner of Veterinary Medical Center, Studio City in November, 1997. He was the first veterinarian to lead the Pet Therapy program at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank.

Dr. Aboulafia cites the relationships and friendships he has developed over the years with so many pet owners and pets as one of the most enjoyable aspects of his profession. He’s a certified scuba diver who also enjoys and collects fine wines (Napa is way too close to UC Davis)….and from what we’re told, he’s an excellent cook as well!

Dr. Erwin David

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Erwin David graduated cum laude from the University Of Philippines College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1977. He received his Master of Science degree in Veterinary Parasitology from Kansas State University in 1981. Soon after he joined the staff of Parker Pet Hospital, now known as Veterinary Medical Center Studio City. He’s been here so long that Dr. Aboulafia often quips, “Dr. David came with the furniture”. In truth, Dr. David simply enjoys working here and meeting many wonderful people and helping them care for their four-legged companions — several generations of them for some! He has kept his education current by attending yearly national conferences and local continuing education seminars. Dr. David lives in North Hollywood with two orange domestic-shorthaired cats named Jed and Oliver. He is an avid film buff and loves to read and bike. He is a volunteer for NoHo Home Alliance, a nonprofit serving the homeless community in North Hollywood.

Dr. Kiarash Safatian

Dr. Kiarash Safatian from the University Of Davis Veterinary School in 2019. Dr Kiarash joined our team in 2021. Dr Kiarash enjoys checking out all the local foodie stops and spends is out of office days with his dogs “Theodore & Jimmy.

Aron Oppliger

Hospital Manager

Aron has been working in veterinary medicine for over 20 years in various positions. He has been a trained in many different areas within the industry and has spent considerable time working in specialty medicine with a special interest in Emergency and Critical Care. Aron has a passion for patient care and has been working to give patients and pet parents the best possible outcome.

When he is not working with patients, he enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, hiking, and fishing.

Reinaldy Flores

Manager

Reinaldy has lived most of his life in California. He attended LeConte Junior High School and graduated with honors from Hollywood High School Class of 1987.

Reinaldy always knew veterinary medicine would allow him to do the two things he loves most, help pets and their owners. His love for pets and for customer service took him to Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group where he started his everlasting bond with veterinary medicine in 1986 as a part time employee while still in school.

Now, 28 years later, Reinaldy recalls and is very thankful to the many mentors he has had throughout those 28 years for without their help and teaching dedication, he would not be where he is, loving and looking forward to every single day at work.

He lives in Northridge with his wife, Carmen, 2 daughters, 2 sons.
